Frenzy, then quiet

There is something magical about a campus on the day or so before commencement. The days early on during finals week are drenched with anxiety–both theirs and ours. Then campus slows up a bit, thins out of students and their bikes. Parents and student begin to come out to visit the bookstore and stroll around slowly.

Here, the chairs come out; like mushrooms sprouting overnight, all over the lawn and in the sunshine.

We are putting our fancy on for all the guests.
