Twittering your tax aversion: Snooki and John McCain’s intern

Snooki from ’Jersey Shore’ is irritated that Barack Obama put a 10% tax on tanning. Because of this, she no longer uses tanning beds due to the extra expense. Then Snooki said that ‘McCain would never put a 10 percent tax on tanning, because he’s pale and he would probably want to be tan.’

Ok, first of all, if she’s not tanning any more, all I can say is: Thank God because she looks like bacon left on the electric griddle in this picture.

But then we get the joy of McCain’s supposed answer:

So, yesterday, Arizona Senator John McCain actually tweeted Snooki. He wrote (and this is so cute) ‘u r right, I would never tax your tanning bed! Pres Obama’s tax/spend policy is quite The Situation. but I do rec wearing sunscreen!’ Snooki’s reply was ‘Haha Yes!!

So John McCain’s interns get Twitter: they know to tag back at other, high-profile Twitterers in the hopes of getting a response and going viral with blunt messages about “tax/spend policy.”

Modern democratic theory is just not ready for this type of thing.
