Cheap gas politics and the Canyonero

03/09/201203/09/2012 Lisa Schweitzer1 Comment

Cheap gas in the US has a lot of political meanings we often don’t discuss. On the one hand, for those who are urbanists, they see cheap gas as one of the ills that plagues the US. On the other, there are others who see cheap gas as a symbol of American power, and as a matter of patriotism. It’s hard to reconcile these ideas with supposedly free markets.
